Staying away from town!

Yep, I won't go anywhere near our town today. It is the annual Ausable Canoe marathon. This is actually a big deal, and is about the most grueling canoe race out there. Paddlers come from all over the US, Canada, and as far away as Australia. This is not a casual drift type of trip. Two paddlers per racing canoe, and it is intense non-stop paddling the whole way. Race starts promptly at 9:00pm and ends around 10:00am Sunday morning. They paddle downstream from Grayling to Oscoda on the shore of Lake Huron. 128 miles in the dark on a twisting turning river. Graylings population is 2007 and it swells to around 10K or more. More than 50,000 people expected to flock to Northern MI for AuSable River Canoe Marathon

Lots of people. I'd stay clear of town also.
We have a town here called Lewiston that we steer clear of for other reasons !!!!(bang)

I noticed an odd rib cage union (where they meet) and unusual hips. There's kind of a "dwarf" or "Hobbit" look going on with the sticky-out ears and nose. The plastic enhancements likely means her personality doesn't bring healthy balance (she's probably trying to distract from an unpleasant personality given that her natural external features do not).

Personally, I think personality is more important than external appearance, and it's difficult to find a person with great looks and a decent personality, though they don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Looks fade, personality endures .

For us, in a town of 2,500 to 3000, The Hillsville, VA; Memorial day and Labor Day Flea Market/Gun Shows typically sees attendance numbers around 500,000 visitors over the four-day event. It's nuts...

The town finally got a by-pass around it - before that by-pass, it would take hours going through town. Locals know the back streets to get around. The rest of the year, the by-pass sees VERY little usage....

Without those 2 days, pretty sure the old town would have died by now!!

Sounds like a fellow from Cortland, New York, a nearby town was one of the winners. Had coverage on the local news before and after the race.

Don’t know the fellow, but we both grew up in the Cortland area.

I don't care for the aftermarket paddle either, but it would not be a "deal-breaker"

...but we both grew up in the Cortland area.

Spent some time around McGraw, NY - Uncle lived there and had a chainsaw shop in Cortland. Right on the river... Very nice area!
