B7610 with 400 hrs.It usually starts pretty easy when cold.Harder to restart with warm engine. ---When it does start its a split second after you release the key.Hardly ever will start while cranking, only when key is released...Runs perfect when running after starting.Clean air and fuel filter...

Thanks Much

Could be due to a week stop solenoid, some models get a voltage jolt when you let off the key, and pull in harder to let fuel flow. ;)

Mine MX5100 was acting very similar it was the key switch. Fiddle with the key and see if you can make it act up. I had to hold pressure on my key to get it to start, after it started I could let the key go.

Thanks for the help. Two observations:1. I put the battery on a trickle charger until battery reached full charge. It started right up on cold start.Wouldn't restart until cool down after running 5 min.2.Back when the tractor was newer, when you turned it off you could hear a click after 10 seconds or so.It doesn't make that shut off click any more.

Sounds like a sticky fuel cutoff solenoid. Im guessing that its a 3 wire solenoid,1 ground,1 hot while key is on and 1 engages with the starter. Testing the wires will tell all.

Check your battery cables. Make sure they are clean on both ends. Make sure the terminal ends aren't loose as well. Especially the ground. Usually when a unit won't start while cranking but will as soon as the key is released, it's a connection issue. Seems like one of your cables could be losing continuity once it gets warm/ hot.

Starter is the first place power goes too, and when the connection is hinky, it will hog the voltage causing a voltage drop to other areas that require voltage on the starting process.
