I used my 1999 M4700 a couple of times today and then parked it. I went to use it again and nothing happens when you turn the key. I checked the 50A fuse and it's ok. I had a spare key switch and changed it out, still nothing. Battery is good. Maybe a safety switch, a:confused:ny suggestions?

Now this is just a stab in the dark. But just maybe is the PTO engaged?

Thanks for the replies.
I did check the PTO, Gear Shifter and the high low range shifter and none of them helped.

Only suggestion, take off battery cables and clean them and the post real good and make sure ground cable where connected to tractor frame is tight and clean. If its not doing anything not even clicking this may do it, if you are lucky.handy

I agree with Handyman. Check the battery connectors. I worked for days with a similar problem. The battey checked fine. starter was ok, key switch checked out. Turned out to be the positive battery terminal connector was cracked. Clean the posts and inside the connectors real good and examine the connectors for signs of a crack or split. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I'll be working out of town the next few days and I'll check it out when I get back and let you know the results.
Thanks again,
Kent

Turned out that it was the High/low range safety switch, I bypassed it for trouble shooting and it started.
