Hi all,

I bought an old Kubota L2600 with a V1500 engine. It actually looks like an L285. I am having troubles starting it and I am sure its the Glow Plugs or the power supply to the glow plugs. The problem is because I am unfamiliar with the tractor I dont know if I am starting it correctly.

The tractor will start eventually, it blows white smoke chugs and farts a bit then eventually catches. Runs absolutely fine once going.

So my question is when you turn the ignition key to "On" position should this warm the glow plugs? I cant seem to see any other indicators on the dash not that I know what to look for to be honest.

Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Cheers

PS. If it helps I could take a picture of the dash, but from what I can see it looks almost identical to the L285 model.

On my L235, there is a back knob on the right side of the dash that turns to the right to engage the starter. Turning it to the left with the key on energizes the glow plugs. Then turn it to the righ t to start.
