Stacking Implements for Storage?

I have a blade, a rotary mower, a bucket and a grapple. I'm running out of storage in my shed.

I was thinking of building or buying some kind of a vertical storage system. The blade on the ground, next a shelf large enough for the bucket, then on top of that, a shelf for the grapple. I could just have one shelf because either the bucket or grapple will be on the tractor.

I can't be the first to have this issue but I can't find anything in the search. How have others solved this? Cheap and easy is always good.

I friend of mine has added a lean to off of one of his buildings and this he stores his implements under. An impressive set up. He just backs his Kubota right up to the proper implement and off he goes.

Space is limited in my 2 bay tractor shed. I picked up a heavy duty 4x4x9 rack from a construction company years ago and put the grapple on it, leaving room for the bucket underneath. I often stick the bush hog under freeing up room in the other bay, and with some 2x8s on the grapple, can rest the bucket while still on the loader. I would check with junk yards, constr, trucking or other companies that might have something laying aroud. You can have one made with some angle iron--nneds to be heavy duty to handle the weight.

I guess it's not rocket science. Build a shelf out of lumber or find some commercial shelving.

The biggest thing I can suggest, is take your fork depth into consideration, height of your implements while on dollies. I added C-5 channel steel beam lag bolted to 2x6 behind it across the front edge to eliminate a center post. Its a great way to use space.

I use pallet racks similar to those you see at home depot or costco. I have ceiling height and use 16 foot racks and 3,000# beams. My forklift reaches 16 feet.

I recently added new racks last year. Previously I bought used thinking I was saving money. The reality is I bought new certified racks for not much more that the used and they have no dings, twists, weld repairs that used ones all seem to have which is why companies discard them. Depending on your jurisdiction racks may be classified as safety items requiring inspections etc. If you are running a business or have employees you aren't doing yourself any favours buying used.

I keep all of my implements in a 20 ft shipping container to keep them out of the weather. I keep all of my implements on carts like everyone else so I can roll what ever I need to the door and use my pallet forks to move them to my concrete pad for hook up. I was running out of floor space in there so needed to go up. Picked the lightest one being the york rake. I made a box to sit on top of box blade to place york rake on. Set it up there with forks and strap it down, and take it all to shipping container where I can just push it up against the wall. Worked out well.

I crushed some China Freight 225 pounders under my chipper.
Trying some Home Depot ~5" tall 330 pounders, seem to be holding at the moment.
