This is the first new piece of equipment I've had the pleasure of owning so its my introduction to the mysteries of the Kubota 50 hour service. I've read the owners manual, perused the WSM, and read many threads in this forum about the 50 hour service for other equipment. For the SSV75 the requirement is engine oil/filter and hydraulic filter. If I choose not to replace the hydraulic fluid how much do I need to drain to remove the filter and avoid bathing in hydraulic fluid?

The "requirement for a First 50-hour service is to change the hydraulic oil filter. You do not need to drain out any hydraulic to change it, just open the engine access door, unscrew the hydraulic oil filter and screw the new filter on. Start the machine and top off the hydraulic reservoir.
The first engine oil and filter change is at 500 hours, or before if you decide to do it earlier.
Make sure the hydraulic oil you put in the reservoir and the chain cases is ISO 46HD fluid, not regular ISO 46 fluid.

Understood and appreciate your input. The hydraulic filter is below the reservoir tank. I was thinking there would be a significant leak when it is removed.
