LIPS (Lateral Implement Positioner System)

Have trouble sometimes connecting to the grapple to the M59 FEL.

0.5x1.5x10” flat bars welded at 45*.

Helps alignment on grapple ssqa. It's like it wants to jump on now. Don’t have the line of sight as good as the B26 and side clearance is tighter. The B26 bucket and backhoe qa buckets are the only ones I have seen these flares. Should have done this 30 years ago.

That’s a great idea, I find I can get my home made SSQA-V and the hla grapple on first shot. But there is no side play on my bucket so sometimes it takes a second or third try to get it. Just recently though started actually switching things so I’m a bit new to swapping out ssqa attachments.

Didn’t have trouble with vertical alignment. Horizontal was impaired. Also part of the problem was tight tolerance 1/4” and parking inside a shed on uneven ground made attachment difficult. This solved that problem

Using the same grapple on my old M5030 was even more challenging. Took several attempts to attach. A miss attempt could damage the hydraulic lines.

I ground 45⁰ bevels on the edge of my side plates and just that little bit helped a lot. If I continue to struggle I'll weld on some LIPS.

I normally just come in at an angle, then steer to the one side and that pushes the FEL against the side of the mount. Push forward and lift it up.

Mine just must not be that tight. I've got more than enough play to get it hooked up pretty easily.
