Hi folks! I've a B7100HST with a Kubota model 1630 FEL. I'd like to be able to use the lighter of my newer skid steer standard QA toys on it. Your thoughts and/or experience on pre-made adaptors? DIY? Suggestions? Thanks, John

I know some adventurous folks fab their own, but when I was considering adding ssqa to my previous L3410 I decided to just pay for a ready made ssqa pin on plate for around $800. Before buying it, I ended up with a new tractor with ssqa.
Switching between the bucket, plow, and forks is awesome.

RJ: you found a pre-made ssqa adapter for your L3410? Recall the brand? I've been looking but am coming up short for the 1630 FEL. Most of what I see is built way over-kill for the 1630's very limited lift capacity. Extra pounds just reduce my net lift.

My current thinking is to cut off and move the existing bucket pin brackets to a generic Titan ssqa adaptor and then attach (bolt/weld) the bucket to a ssqa mounting plate. Pretty cheap, about $370 plus welding and paint. The parts:
Think it might work ok?

Kubota offers a couple different flavors of factory made ssqa in different sizes.
I used a L2230A to convert the loader on my B2910/LA402.

B2366 is another one made for smaller size tractors.
Dimensions here:

Less than $500 from your Kubota dealer (talk to sales about "whole goods", not the parts counter).

The critical dimensions are width, pin dimensions and pin spacing.

poyjas,
Several factors come into play, with doing an ssqa on little loaders.

Width of the loader arms, on most they line right up with the pins so you end up moving the pins out so far they make the lift loss too great.

Width of the bucket, most of the buckets on smaller loaders are narrower than the backing plate width, 46"

Weight, even with a 5/16 cut down plate and a small adapter that adds a lot of weight out front witch reduces lift.

When I built my loader for my B7100 I used the SSQA idea and made it smaller, narrower, and lighter.
I took the dimensions of the inner pin holes of the SSQA plate and used that for the new width.
Also don't use a 5/16 plate, if you need one at all (i just put the top latch plate and the bottom latch plate on the back of the bucket), use a 1/4 plate and cut it down and lighten it.
If you need more info or help just ask. ;)
