OK well since I cant get a supplier or scrap yard, to call me back or even answer the phone. I am wondering what the going price of 2x2 heavy wall tubing is going for. I only need about 10 feet but I still need it and cant find it

I have a couple mill lengths (21 feet) in the out building that I'll probably never use. Were for a product I no longer make. It's Schedule 80 btw. I can CTL if you want them...

To give you some idea of how much steel has went up. I just bought a dozen Jobber length Triumph Tornado flattened shank 185 degree split point HSS drill bits for MSC. Last time I bought them (a year ago), they were 96 bucks for a dozen. This time they were $180.00 for a dozen.

Tooling and materials prices are putting me out of business pretty quick.

I priced 2 8 foot lengths of Schedule 60 ordinary black iron pipe from my supplier (Alro Steel), 190 bucks and I pick them up, no delivery.

I passed and told my customer I wasn't interested.

McMaster- Carr but only in 6ft length. Don't know just how heavy your planning on.
geez I was trying to get two 6 foot long sections 1x1" square tubing with the holes in it to make a leaf pick up for the grapple. I went to HD, Lowes and local metal supplier, no one had it. thanks for posting this, McMaster had it in stock. Wish I hadnt wasted an entire afternoon of driving around and having people scratch their heads at me.

Did you call McMillen in Houston? I used Dan Bailey in Marianna... I heard recently he's still in business.

I see your in NJ, If you order before noon you may get it that day. They were my go supplier in a pinch when I was running a facility there. Not the cheapest but can get what you need.

I love using them, but have only purchased fasteners, never dawned on me they would carry metal stock. Their stuff always arrives the very next day, incredible service.

Thanks I did find some, but 60 bucks for 10 feet is a tad rich for my blood. I will give them a call

Skeets what are you building? Is the tubing you're looking for the same as used on the heavy wall towing receivers?

I want to build a piece for the 3 point so I can use it to skid stuff out of the woods I was thinking 3/16 wall but re thinking maybe 2x2 angle might be just as good to do what I want

Do they still have all the farm auctions in that part of the country?

I was thinking you might be able to pick up one of the dirt scoops that fit on the 3 point. You could cut the bucket out and have a logging arch without a whole lot of work.
