Just wondering who else is in full blown maintenance mode?

With everything else that normally goes on plus rebuilding fence I've managed to do a full service on my L3000. Started a full service on my M9000. 2 new tires on my tedder and 8 new wheel bearings. I guess when I get done with the tractors I'll check my rake and hook the mower up so I can change the cutter bar oil and put on a new set of blades.

I'm ready to get in the hay field if it ever gets dry enough. I want to put my new trailer to work.

Yeppers, started on the service of Katie on Saturday. Went well, after work today finish topping off the hydro oil and the radiator flush and she will be done.

Exmark mower next on the list, be the first hydro change on it.

You bet!

Did oil change and good long working run on generator the other day.

Have new fan belt and coolant for tractor. Will do them before servicing mower deck and reinstalling. I sharpened Blades last week. Ready to go.

Tractor's air filter was changed other day. Fluids and filters changed last fall.

I also did some early-season tinkering with Dad's '53 Minneapolis Moline ZAU yesterday in preparation to bring it to my house.

Governor linkage was wonky last fall after replacing the governor. He hasn't run it since late fall.

A little redneck homemade linkage manufacturing made her purr and idle like a kitten!! Great project and outcome for a spring start-up!

I have everything lined up ready to go: oil, UDT, filters, etc. Maybe this weekend if I have time.

I did everything on mine a couple weeks back.

Isn't it fun laying on the ground to drain the engine oil and hydraulic oil? I didn't seem notice before but now that I am in my 70's, it sure does slow me down. :(

I am lucky enough to have 3 phase service to my property that I connected to my new shop. Then lucked out on a great deal on a 4000kg four post drive on hoist that wasn't selling because it was 3 phase. One of the best purchases I every made - I do not miss laying on the dirt to do starters, oil changes, brakes, etc.

You are really making me jealous.

I do not have a shop or 3 phase service out here.

I put down cardboard to help slide in an out but getting up took me awhile. :D

I changed my fuel filter, engine oil and filter this weekend, Kubota fuel and oil filter, and Rotella T6 5W-40. A couple of weeks ago I changed the hydraulic fluid, 5 gallons of SUDT2, and both filters. I don't have enough hours for the hydraulic oil change, but I don't want to wait that long. It's cheap insurance.

That’s a nice toolbox. Sure beats the plastic one they come with.

Where did you get it?

It was an old Kennedy tool box I had. Painted it orange, made a mounting bracket and presto. The best, it was free, throwing it out at work so I brought it home and stuck it away.

Thank you, I do enjoy it holds all I need and some.

Is anyone using a different hydraulic fluid rather than the pricey Kubota UDT? I only changed filters this year but will do a full service next year which will take 16 gallons. My M9000 has the mechanical shuttle.

I use Amsoil tractor trans hydraulic fluid in mine. It cost more up front but you can run it up to 3x longer that standard fluid.

Spring maintenance....yep. I replaced my seat. The springs were in good shape, just the metal frame was rusted beyond repair.:D:D You can see, the seat looks fine, just no support the the left back corner.

There is a lesson here. This is on a Grand L 4240. I purchased it used, and apparently the previous owner must have left it outside a bunch. Water can eventually get past the tight bottom cover and when it does that cover acts like a pan and water can not escape easily. Therefore the rust!

The seat back is fine, if someone needs one. The seat cost $1100 from Kutota, just the bottom was over $300. I had one like I listed on RK ad, so I used it because I had the seat slide and weight adjust mechanism, just needed a seat mounted to that. My orange/camo seat cover fit right over it.

Last things to do are hydraulic fluid and filter screen on the tractor, and assemble and install the cylinders for the backhoe.

Does anyone use something other than the pricy Kubota UDT hydraulic fluid? I changed filters this year and will do a full hydraulic system change next year. It takes 16 gallons on a M9000 so it isn't cheap using the Kubota oil. I cannot bring myself to use the common yellow jug/green top that is rated as hydraulic and transmission oil but would like to hear what others are doing.

I use Kubota Super UDT-2 Fluid & Kubota Filters, change at recommended service intervals. I would not chance using a generic brand.

Bulldog, I use Amsoil in much of my equipment, mowers, parking lot Little Wonder blower, 4-wheeler, power washer etc. but I do use the 5-40 T6 Rotella in the tractor. No real reason I don't run it in the tractor.

I will add one more little thing to check,,, when your deck is off,,,,,, Change your fuel filter, and check the bolts on the mower spindles the will come loose and you will lose them and its a PIA taking every thing off to fix them
