Like everything else, YOU have to decide whether the gadget controls you or you control it.

I've had a smart phone for years now. On average I make 1 or 2 calls a week on it, and receive about that many. Same with texts. Phone spends most of its time idle, in a phone case, in my kitchen or in whatever vehicle I'm in. I do keep it around my location because I'm part of the local Sheriff's Search and Rescue unit and they do their callouts through the phone system.

Thats much easier said that done... For the upcoming /younger generations.

it's become part of everyday life and culture.

they know nothing else.

I have zero communications with my grandchildren because I refuse to play text tag. Whatever floats their boat, I will live my life the way I want.
