Just a few moments ago, I clicked my bookmark in Chrome to come to the forums, and I got a blue screen that looked like DOS running in the background, and an error pop up stating "the site you are trying to visit has been infected, but click here to allow us to disconnect your internet connection, it is still possible to save your data" The mouse was moving on its own all over the screen and wouldn't responds. Since I have a touchscreen, I touched the X and closed the browser. I then noticed my bookmark changed from orange to blue, the color of the "error" background. I used searched orange tractor talks in google, it brought me to the forums, and my icon on my bookmark went back to orange. Not sure if it's a site thing or something weird on my end, I use norton antivirus, and this is the first time I've ever gotten anything like this.

It sounds to me like you have some malware on your PC. You may want to do a virus scan on your computer.

Very unlikely anything to do with OTT.
I've never had any issues like that.
It's not spam, it's malware that's causing your issues.

I would suggest you use another malware detection program to find it.

I just came in directly to the forum and as soon as I got to the page I got a message saying that the website www.fisham.site was not secure and I was kicked back to the forum. Something fishy going on?

It only did it once, and when I closed it and immediately came back, the site and my bookmark went back to normal. I have done a couple different scans, nothing found except 9 tracking cookies.

Looking in the browser history, mine was also fisham.site Not seeing much online about anything called fisham.site

Are you sure on the spelling?
I find nothing on that domain name, or any other issues with anything close?

I'm sure that's what it said, but I cleared it out of my history so I can't verify that 100%. I didn't find anything on it when I searched either.

I just had the same issue described above. I'm on my work PC - it could have some other issues but I don't visit many non work related sites. When I do it's legitimate stuff like OTT, ESPN, etc.

Ok checking around everything seems ok on this end. Could someone who sees this again do me a favor and provide these details?

1/ A screenshot of what you are seeing (making sure the URL is visible too).
2/ The browser you are using and version.

That will help narrow this down a bit.

Hi, I got a similar thing, but from a totally different site. I was visiting a site for my calculus homework, and then the same thing described popped up. I searched up what I could find about fisham.site and this forum came up. I attached a screenshot on here. I'm not sure what happened, but apparently I'm not the only one. I checked for malware, and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong there. My chrome version is 87.0.4280.141. I don't think it is this site that's the problem.

Mr. K, that is the exact message I got, on Windows 10, Chrome Version 87.0.4280.141 (Official Build) (64-bit) Just got it the one time, and not again since. The only reason I associated it to this site at all is because the Icon for this site changed, and nothing else did. I also doubt it's anything to do with the site, but I am not a computer guy by any means.

Hey there - this is good data. Could you tell us/me what the other site was that you were visiting? It's possible there could be something in common between this site and the one you were visiting (eg. same hosting provider, same software, same ad provider, etc).

From what I can find it looks likely to be malware: https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=windows+critical+alert+page+turns+out+to+be+infected&ia=web

All the sites found give malware removal instructions. Unfortunately, it seems many of those sites also promote their own anti-malware. Makes me wonder how elaborate the scam might be.

Either way, probably best to scan/clean your computer. As for the site, sometimes malware can come embedded in an ad. It would be useful if anyone could determine if there were a particular ad that corresponded to the problem. I've seen that happen on other sites in the past.

Unplug your computer. Put it on a shelf in the basement. Buy a new computer. Buy a dedicated hardware firewall with transparent SSL proxy and DNS cache poisoning to filter/block adware/spyware. Stop visiting porn sites and clicking anything on your browser. Stop using google - its the number one source of computer viruses and trojans.
