I assumed it was just for getting water out of fuel and diesel. Saw a guy on YouTube use it for anti gel purposes but didn't really go into detail. Reading a bottle of the stuff it only talks about cleaning injectors, removing water and "preventing fuel line freeing". When googling specifically for Diesel Anti gel....Iso Heet is nowhere to be found. One would think Iso Heet would advertise as an Anti gel....if it were in fact an Anti gel.....what gives?

I didn't know they made HEET for diesel engines, but found out that the red bottle works in diesel (yellow bottle is NOT for diesel engines). The HEET brand anti-gel has been discontinued and replaced by Sta-Bil line of diesel treatments, which I use the All Season treatment in my tractor.
Reading up, HEET appears to be mostly alcohol additive that binds with water to remove it. My understanding anti-gel products use copolymers and fuel catalyst to prevent gelling. So, you may benefit from the removal of the water and freezing issue, it doesn't appear (by the little research I have done) that there are any anti-gel properties from HEET.
Since there are so many good diesel fuel additives that prevent anti-gelling and remove water, I would select one of those.

Yeah I don't think it has anything that would prevent gelling on diesels. Stick to something that is specifically a diesel anti gel treatment.
Can you explain why that would be a bad idea? The bottle does say it is for diesels too.

Heet is not a good product for diesels no matter what the label says.
Stanadyne is my go too, been using it for years and NEVER have a fuel related issue.
And we get pretty dang cold up here.

Yeah kind of my reason for posting in the first place....to get people's experience to broaden my understanding. Just wondering what the science behind why alochol is bad for diesels.
