So my L3901 started blowing fuses and just shutting down. The 20 amp fuse blew along with the 5 amp fuse that controls the start up safety switches e

I searched as lol the wire under the tractor and repaired the brake switch wiring that was damaged. But it kept blowing the fuses. I’ve searched and inspected every safety switch on the machine to no avail. Now the fuses aren’t blowing but the fuel pump won’t come on nor will the motor start. The starter is spinning. It just won’t fire. Is there some kind of ground fault relay or something like that in this machine? I am not an expert on wiring by far and need help.

Blindly looking for electrical problems has many pitfalls. (especially if the machine has a “computer”)

Here is a link that may help you find a wiring diagram to aide in trouble shooting.

One thing is for sure:

No fuel pump = no run.

I would start there using a multimeter and the wirung diagram in the WSM. You can download the WSM from the Kubotabooks website.

If you use this site be CAREFUL! There may be pop up ads that direct you to other sites! Just close all pop ups and move down on the home page until you see a picture of a tractor. That is the link to the index page. This is a link to the index page directly. Use it instead.

You can get the manual and review it for free but they would like a donation to help maintain the site.

How did you check the switches? The fuse blowing would typically be a short to ground of one of the wires that carry 12V. The switch itself could still be perfectly working if you measure it unplugged. I had a similar problem on another tractor recently and it turned out to be the seat safety switch shorting to ground.
