First rear tire was at 34 so I thought I would try 28. I was not paying attention on the second
rear and I screwed off the stem and I think the beet juice flew at least 20 feet. Pretty funny, I was covered in beet juice! I stopped the gusher in about 2.5 seconds but I bet I lost at least 2-3 gal. Lol

Haha. I haven't done it yet bit I'm sure that I will at some point. I recently lowered my rears to 15psi and my fronts to 20psi to make weekly mowing a little less painful.

What tires do you all have on your LX’s? also can you explain a little more what you messed up where you spilled out beet juice, They use screw on stems when they do the fluid filled tires? You may have just saved me the same experience!

You have the stem and you have the little cap. I thought I was taking the cap off but it was tight on the stem and the stem came out.

Could you do loader work with only 15 psi?

Fronts go back to 34psi for any loader work. If I notice any squat in the rear due to ballast, I adjust accordingly.

Probably missing something, but why screw out the stem, rather than just push it down to release some pressure?

By the way, I am impressed with your quick reactions replacing the valve stem! With my luck the stream of beet juice would have knocked it from my fingers and I would have ended up sitting in a lake of beet juice...

Henro...I believe. the issue is that in order to depress the schrader valve pin to let out air....the dust cap/cover must be removed... and while removing the dust cap/cover it went unnoticed that the entire stem was turning... being removed from the wheel.

beet juice is kinda 'sticky',if in the threads it can be as 'gluey' as Locktite
my luck would have been the valve assembly would have launched into the next county as well as giving me a 'red shower'. so flat tire, all sticky wet and NO spare valve on the property....

I did get lucky that it stayed in my hand.

While discussing beet juice, hope to dig my 160' of them tomorrow night so I can make some pickled beets:) Hmm I do love some pickled beets!

Forgot about my loaded rears few years back and went to do the same thing, let a little air out but quickly realized that was a bad idea with the stem at 6:00.

Good day OTT.

depress the schrader valve pin
That's what those are called? All these years I have been calling them that valve stem thingy. I have learned something and can now take the rest of the day off:)

Totally hijacking the thread. Got a good recipe? I just bought some and was going to make some with cauliflower.
