The subframe on my b2650 snowblower has 3 sets of attachments. I got the front two on but having problems with the rear set. Trying to determine how important they are. Front set is 8 hardened bolts, second is two each side. If I can skip the 3rd it'd be easier but if people think I'll run into problems then I'll figure something out.

ive got that same snow blower... but my mount doesnt look anything like that.

mine is a plate on the front with the hydro cylinder & then the bars run to the rear mounts.

got a couple pictures posted you can look at in my snow blade thread.

might help or it might confuse you more... but it gives you something to compare to.

The only pictures of yours I saw were to small to get a real look at how the mounting system works. Some people changed it to use hydraulics, but I'm using the existing system for now, it's cold, not enough time to get it converted before the snow hits.

This is my setup:

ok heres you a HUGE pic. :)

if the software here resizes it... shoot me an email & i'll send it to you that way.

dont pay any attention to the snow blade part of the pic, just look at the mount itself.

if you drop the cross bolt on my mount, that set of flat plates on your blower goes right in there.

Yeah, that looks like a different mounting setup entirely. Still, yours has lower supports that connect to the midpoint of the tractor, but being front mount single plate it'd have to to withstand the force on anything you hit. A flat plate like that wouldn't be very durable without hte lower mounts going back to the midpoint.

My goal is with the 4 bolts on each side, plus the secondary mounts, and being sideway, hopefully it'll add the necessary strength. The right side has it because it's holding the driveshaft, however the left side there's a hydraulic line in the way, and even if I extended it, it would be a M10 bolt's strength at 2" out from it's mount, basically not very strong.
