I am looking at putting a front mount snowblower on my B2920 tractor. My dealer quoted me a couple of prices. The first is for the B2781B with manual rotator and also hydraulic rotator. The second price is for the BX5455HD which comes with the hydraulic rotator. Does anybody have any experience with either of these models on a B series tractor? Which is the better choice and the most rugged? At the prices for these units, I don't want to get the wrong one.

BAP,

I have the B2781B. I have the manual rotator, works fine for me. I run it on a B2650.
Some things to consider, do you have a cab? If so hydraulic may be a better option. Do you live in an area with with lots of snow?

My only complaint, it would be nice if they offered gage wheels for those of us that have gravel driveways. Until the ground freezes the skid shoes sink into the ground.

I don't have a cab yet. Considering building one or even buying one of these by Agrital an Italian company. I got a quote from them of $3900 delivered to me with a heater. It has a built in ROPS. I plan on getting the hydraulic chute rotator so if I do get a cab I am ready.

I also went with the 5455HD, close in price and has the hydraulic rotation. The sales rep said this was the most reliable option.

Will know soon enough as winter is just around the corner. :)

I picked it for the 5 extra inches, and gear driven compared to chain driven. Once less thing I hope that will break (chain). Would much rather a shear pin .....

For me was a $600 difference (if I was getting the standard 50" blower and then adding hydro chute. So like you hope for the extra $600 it works well this winter. With my luck getting a cab and blower it wont snow for the next three years:(
