Looking at a LP SB1064 and a Kubota BLMX3164 and notice the SB1064 auger has more turns per side. It looks like the SB1064 has 2.5 while the BLMX1064 only has 1.5. Would that make a big difference in the performance of the snow blower?

From the google pictures I could find both snowblowers look to be 1.5 auger turns. For performance if they are different maybe but i think other design differences would be more important and the engineer should have optimized the speed it turns at for that blower.
Been my experience that auger flites are of little consequence versus horsepower and snow conditions. Heavy snow takes power and lots of it. Light fluffy stuff don't.

I would look for thicker auger blades and an easy to clean chute. My 30 year old Lucknow has 1/2" thick blades that still look like new after years of abuse ingesting newspaper sausages, buried branches and hidden rocks.
Performance will depend a lot on the type of snow, depth of cut, operating temperatures, travel speed. You also have to consider the secondary blades.
Think of the type of drill bits in your hand drill. Genera rule of thumb is more flutes is better in harder materials. When I'm drilling soft material like wood I want fewer flutes and less turns to pull the swarf away from the cut as quick as possible. More flutes and more turns means more compaction of your swarf because you can't move it away from the cutting edge fast enough.

Hard to beat a Lucknow (Helm welding). They aren't cheap but built like a tank. Mine as well has gobbled up all sorts of stuff hidden in the snow including a few broken bricks but never any sausage...lol
There is no visible wear on the expeller fan blades or on the bottom of the expeller chamber other than it's missing the paint which gets rusty until the first use, then it's shiny. The bottom of the expeller chamber seem to wear out first. Never replaced anything on it either, check the gearbox every fall to make sure it's full of 90 weight, oil the auger drive chain with gear oil, grease the outboard auger pillow blocks and idlers and PTO shaft and call it good.
Looked at a Landpride at my dealer a while ago (he got the Lucknow for me before Kubota acquired Landpride and the LP isn't built nearly as stout as the Lucknow.
Only downside is, it's blue....lol Mine has the hydraulic rotator and hydraulic chute deflector as well.
I'd say mine is about as old as yours.
You should also take a look at WoodMax, nice heavy duty and great performance, I run a SB72 on a L3901, the SB 60 has bigger auger and fan compared to what you are looking at. Also many configuration options.
The two I mentioned were my only options. There just aren't any others available otherwise I would have bought another Puma, made by Provonost. Another thing is I couldn't find any specs for the BLMX3164 anywhere except that it was 64" wide. My dealer couldn't provide any info so I called Messicks and they couldn't tell me anything else about it either. TractorHouse has had a few 2016 and 2018 models of it for sale so it isn't a brand new model so why isn't info available for it? Makes me wonder about how good it is. My dealer has one on order for me that is supposed to be in Friday. I ended up buying a used SB1064 yesterday because we have a big storm coming in tomorrow. I'll look at the BLMX3164 when it comes in but I think I'll tell the dealer I don't want it.
