Not too long ago, on one of the few forums I attend, there was mentioned using a smog pump to boost intake on a gas engine. I would like to know more about such an idea but can't find the thread. Do any of you guys know how to do this?

PS: I am posting this on the other forums too. So if you keep seeing this it is because you are following me. :D

Well, it probably will not create enough air volume. The smog pumps (most of them) are just rotary vane pumps and will not move enough air to really create any boost on a small diesel. Belt driven "Blowers" generally come in two flavors "roots type" with inter meshing rotors and centrifugal whereby a large impeller similar to a turbo impeller is driven at high speed by a gear set in the blower. Both move a very large volume of air which is necessary to create the "boost" you want.
