Slightly Used BX2200

I have a B7610 and love it... I suggested that my brother look at a BX2200 at the local dealer and he is getting prices. The BX2200 that he is looking at has only 230 hours on and it looks new. It has a mower, FEL, and 2 stage snowblower, turf tires. He was given a price of $11000. 2 questions...

1. how does that sound to most of you?
2. Is this one of the models that has that infamous plastic fan that cools the transmission??? If so, can a guard be bought??

I've been lurking here, but boy, have I learned...

you didnt say what year on the 2200, but at 230 hours, it is JUST broken in.....i would tell him to offer a bit less, worst that can be said is no.....
and yes i do believe it has the "fan from hell" and yes there is a bullet proof underbelly deck covering.......

I think it's a fair price, but would try to get it cheaper, just don't wait too long or try too hard or it will be gone. I have a BX2200 with 60" MMM and FEL along with a BX2660 and my dealer has tried several times to buy my 2200 or sell it for me.

Yes it has a vulnerable HST fan, all BX models do, however unlike later models it is quite easy to replace. BXpanded has guards as does Bro Tek, my preference is Bro Tek as you can use it with MMM on, my fan was broken even with the MMM on. I also got stabilizer bars to replace the turnbuckles from Hodge at Stabilworks.

For your neck of the woods, that is a great combination! Turf tires + chains are terrific in snow/ice. With the blower, he will be unstoppable! I'd go for it.

Any way to talk to the former owner? Sometimes stuff gets traded in due to an ongoing problem. My BX had a bad fuel pump from the start and sure was grief narrowing down the problem to that. Any history on fuel filter replacement at the shop? With some fuel they plug up fast.

One other question before we see this thing tomorrow... Do you have to remove the FEL sub-frame to mount the front snowblower? I'm sure the salesman will know, but I need to ask...
