Skid shoes for rear blade

Howdy everybody .,
I'm trying to figure a good but simple way to add skids to my blade for the winter .
I have a gravel driveway 300 yds long and some other areas I try to keep drivable in the snow.
I contacted my dealer for skids and the price is $260 Canadian.
To me that is just a ridiculous amount of money .
So I'm looking for ideas to make my own and keep most of my cash in my pocket.
If anyone has done this or has ideas or if you know where to buy one cheaply i would be interested and grateful.

Ps I live in Alberta Canada so buying from the States we get hosed buying anything with the exchange rate and shipping or freight .
But on the other hand we do get lots of snow and very cold temps.

Just make your own, you can pick up the shoes from any outlet that sells Meyer or Western Plow supplies, couple of pieces of large u channel iron, weld that to your Blade with some holes cut in it and there you go

This is what is on my Western Plow That I use on my Jeep.....

I just use my rear blade reversed until a layer of packed snow is built up. With the blade reversed I move snow on loose gravel and lawn with no problems. After you have a layer of packed snow you don't need skid shoes.

I use my blade backwards with a truck tire retread pelt found on the highway.
My iPad seems to like it upside down.

You probably have already heard or read it but a few guys have used a split piece of pipe, some have used PVC others used a cutting wheel and split a piece of black iron pipe and then hammered it on the cutter edge, it wont clean all the way down or dig up the gravel but still seems to work,,just a thought
