Almost finished making a single tine ripper over the weekend. Apart from the main vertical arm (100 mm x 25 mm flat) which I bought a few weeks ago, the rest was using bits that were leftover from other things.

I decided to make it adjustable copying some that I saw online - no idea if that will be a useful feature or not.

I'm planning on trying it for some drainage trenches. Want to try and come up with something I can fit to it to clear out the trench once I've made a few passes to loosen the soil. Also planning to make and add a pipe laying attachment to lay some small diameter irrigation poly pipe.

Still a couple of angle braces to add, some cleaning up and painting.

Looks good. I bought something similar for my Polaris Ranger. Yours has a lot more features. I use mine for shallow ditches for waterlines.

Very cool! Suggestion: You can build up the surface of your tine with weld to extend the wear life.

Wow! That's heavy duty, very nice.
Looks like it would stop the tractor quick if you hit some hidden immovable object. LOL.

Very cool .... like a shorty sub-soiler. 😂 It'll be interesting to see how your B7200 manages when pulling it. Depth and soil type will be the main variables, the bottom bolt too, the one loaded in double shear.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm not sure how it will go either, but no problem if I need several passes to get deeper and wider - still more fun than a shovel.

That bottom bolt is M16 class 10.9 - in double shear it will take about 24,600 kg (54,000 lbs). I don't reckon I'll break it with my little tractor.

Don't you want that bolt to function as a sheer bolt, and save damage?

I'm planning on taking it slowly to save damage. Not even sure how I'd work out what would be the limiting force to prevent damage to the tractor.

You won't be doing any damage with a 17hp tractor... :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

If your terrain is sand, You might be OK.

That thing wouldn't last 5 minutes in New England. The first decent egg will stop you in your tracks.

Haha, thanks. I added a couple of braces to it today, so now it's even heavier. Just imagine if it actually works.

Better wear some Chest-Protection…. (BTDT)

I have/had a Land-PLane and was scraping a field I’d paid a guy to clear of mesquite with a BobCat.

He appeared to have done an acceptable job… So I then ran the Land-Plane over it to scrape the remaining brush and weeds down to dirt …for replanting.

While in 2L gear I was running along at about 3 or 4 mph…. and suddenly found my steering-wheel and sternum occupying the same space. 🤮 OWIEE!

Took a bit to recover my breath… But the real surprise was the Large Bend it placed into the front blade and support of the Land Plane. I never would have dreamed a 3” mesquite stump would have so-completely stopped the tractor and bent that front blade and the 4” square heavy-gauge steel support.

I had to use a 20-ton hyd-jack and chain to straighten it.
