Hello all,
I am looking for a sickle for my L2501 to trim around the edges of our woods. I would like to run it both vertically and horizontally as the woods seems to be closing in on us. The main issue is shoots coming off of trees that prevent me from mowing. Any recommendations or experience for bar length for the L2501? Anyone have one for sale? In Michigan but willing to travel for the right one.
Thank you!
Justin

I use a ditch bank DelMorino flail with hammers for your identical purpose. Did not think a sickle would hold up to the brush that I have invading in addition to the trees. I have no experience with a sickle, this "knowledge" simply comes from reading statements of others. The flail works well, but when it is turned vertical, things do get a little scary - but never a problem yet as I keep it as far offset away from the tractor as possible. Love the grille guard I bought from you, the front of my tractor would be a disaster by now without it, and my grapple has all protection plates in place. Have ripped one hydraulic hose and cut another, but the delicate grille of the tractor is pristine. It is amazing how branches will sneak around and try to break things when you would not think that they could.

I have a sickle bar mower I could sell. I'm in Ontario so we have to wait until the border opens up. PM me if you are interested in getting some details.

Hello Jonathan,
Thank you for the info. Maybe I should start looking for a flail. Glad to hear you are happy with the guard. I appreciate your business!
Have a great day.
