Sickle bar mower

I know this is not kubota but I need help ASAP. My brother was cutting hay with my Dads old Farmall super A. It has the factory sickle bar mower with a 7 ft bar. While mowing the cutter baar broke in half. I welded it but doubt it will hold. Does anyone know of a source for a new cutter bar for this farmall mower? Thanks Sam

Sam, have him check with his local farm store, Tractor Supply or others. They should be able to get one if they don't have any that fit.

I just fixed up a 1956 ih mower, it uses the same sections and guards as the new case ih mowers and combines . they also make a splice kit.

Thanks. We checked with closest Case/IH dealer, they think they have the part. Two hour drive each way but at least we can still get the cutter bar.

Also check the tightness of the clamps, and the condition of the guards wear plates, and ledger plates, on the guards. You should be able to put a post card between the clamps and blade (about 20 thou clearance)...

You can check with Webb's sickle. I bought from them for our Case IH 1300. Great people and have parts for most any sickle.
