Yep I would say just a tad over sized,,,lol,, probably has the temperament of a puppy too.
My Paint mare was 16.3 and she loved kids and kids loved her and she would pester the snot out of you until you gave her a piece of peppermint or a root beer barrel candy then she was happy. In fact all my horses loved peppermint and rootbeer:D

Newbie to tractors and diesels. I have just been given a B7100 (~1980 model). It has been sitting for ?. I am in the process of learning to love /hate this thing! I am working through getting the motor running correctly and have found that I have to cover the intake to kill it. The tractor does not have a dedicated kill lever or decompression lever. I have adjusted the throttle linkage twice. Ideas?

Well,

first off - welcome to the Orange club - where Orange is what we speak!:D,

second - go here ...

http://kubotabooks.com/AutoIndex/in...s/&AutoIndex=bd0b9f070a845f673b7d1be4b614789a

get the three pdf's

B5100_B7100__service_manual_part1.pdf is the first one, get 2 and 3 also.

your engine is killed by placing the throttle completely closed, somehow your fuel shut off is bad or your linkage is.

the key just starts the ol girl.

pulling the throttle almost to your lap - should kill the engine.

mbryant01,
I'll second what Hokie85 said, get the WSM and adjust the linkage and stop point correctly.

Thanks for the quick reply guys. I have already downloaded the service manuals, the owners manual and the parts manuals.I have adjusted the throttle linkage so that the "lever speed control" (ref # 160 parts book) hits the stop (no adjustment screw just a hard stop). I am wondering if maybe running it for a while (waiting on freeze plugs to try this) might flush out the injection pump and loosen up some things in there? Or do I need to pull the plate and look at the governor linkages inside?

When I saw this post I thought ol'e TomCat is back. He hasn't been here for quite a while. Anyone keep in touch with him? Hope he didn't get caught under some iron in that yard he visited frequently.

Figured out the engine needs some load to shut down. I had the clutch tied down and the hydraulic gear pump removed. After bolting the gear pump back in place and adding hydraulic fluid the engine dies like it should when I pull the throttle back to the kill position.

I bring mine down to 1k rpm, let it cool down then pull the kill knob on the right hand side. Just remember to push it back in - ask me how I know LOL.
