I am in the minority for sure. Sitting in the machine shed with a cigar and this is my view of the work bench. Clutter and stuff not put back where I found them. But , hey, it is my hidey hole.
that makes at least two of us!!
My motto: A clean work bench shows no work being done!! That's how I justify mine, anyway.

Just printed another item to hold pens, markers an pencils, with a holder for my frequently used digital caliper. I used a new bi-color filament from Matter Hackers for it that changes color as you turn it. It took about nine hours to print.
I have two, one is a QiDi Tech1 that I bought a few years ago to get started in the 3D printing addiction. It has a small build area, 150mm X 240mm X 150mm, and has two extruders so I can print two colors on the same item, within limits.
My main machine is a scratch built Hypercube Evo. It is a CoreXY machine constructed from 30mm X 30mm (3030) extruded aluminum extrusions, with dual Z axis stepper motors on the build platform. It's controlled by a Duet 2 board that has built in Ethernet support with a web interface to control it from a PC or mobile device. It has a 300mm X 300mm X 300mm build volume, so I can print pretty large items if needed. I also have two Raspberry Pi web cams attached to it so I can monitor the progress remotely. I also added a power control unit that will shut the machine off at the end of the print. I also used the 7 inch Duet touch screen for local control and monitoring.
A lot of the parts I needed initially to build the Hypercube were printed on my QiDi Tech machine, X and Y axis carriages, stepper motor mounts, X and Y axis linear rod mounts and belt pulley mounts were just some of them.
Last summer I had to change the crank seal on my niece's JD LA125, and needed a tool to install the seal properly, so I drew one up in Tinkercad and printed it out. It worked perfectly.

Ever since I rebuilt my diamond/alox tool grinder, I have not been happy with the coolant/lube situation.
(I use kerosene)
Normally, in a machine shop environment, these have a pump to spray coolant/lube onto the diamond wheel. They can be pretty messy, and I had no need for that much capacity. I thought the gravity feed would be adequate for my needs, but it has been a PITA. It was almost impossible to get a tube to deliver a small but steady amount to the wheel. It either drips so much that it is flung everywhere, or not enough, or drips on the table without any benefit to the wheel.
After trying several different delivery tubes, I hit upon this solution. I pulled the ferrule & bristles off a cheap model paint brush, and stuck it on the end a 1/8" copper tube. It not only delivers the kerosene directly to the wheel where I need it, it acts as a throttling device to keep the flow reasonable, without a lot of fiddling with the needle valve.
(I use kerosene)

Last week at work, a few of us guys were questioning why neither Dewalt or Milwaukee make a high speed cordless drill capable of running over 2,000 rpm. We tend to hand drill a lot of small holes and a higher speed drill would be a time saver. I decided to open up my old Dewalt impact driver that runs 2,800 rpm and see if it was possible to lock out the impact mechanism so that when a drill bit grabs, it wouldn’t start to impact and chip the drill. I found that by removing the spring and adding a clamp collar keeps the hammer from sliding and it eliminates the impacting. I used my Hardinge lathe to turn and mill the collar. The 3/8” Albrecht keyless chuck is the latest addition to my lathe tooling.

Seeing all your great shops made me clear my little work space. Bench top is around 60 years old and has it's share of burn marks and cuts from mis-cuts. Somewhere under all the oil, grease, paint, and junk is most likely a nice butcher block. I wish I had aged as well.
Here’s a couple more unconventional setups I performed on my lathe today. I’m modifying a small electric magnetic base drill to be cordless. The magnet went bad, so I removed it and replaced it with a couple of 300 lb pull switchable magnets. I’m making a spindle that will allow a cordless drill to attach. I set the spindle mount up on my lathe and used a boring head in the chuck to bore it for the bearings. Then, I used my Dremel flex shaft with an 1/8” endmill to cut flats on the shank of the spindle so that the drill chuck doesn’t slip and chew it up.
