The concept is a hanger off the pivot point bracket on the ROPS (no mods to the ROPS, use the existing open hole) and a U shaped support that is bolted to the FEL valve hardware. The U shaped support will stick up quite a ways to allow the FEL to be able to move through the full range of movement. It will also have the upper portion removable and plug in to a lower section socket that says bolted the the valve support bolts.

Overall mounting position concept.

Rear hanger mount location (it won’t be a bungy cord), but you can see the open hole that will be employed.

Front mount location (it won’t be chunks if 2x4, that’s just to get the dimensions and orientation).

The rear hanger will only be about 4 inches long. The front support will be about 18” tall. Hence why the upper 14” will be removable when the pole saw is not mounted. The saw will be at an angle to the long axis of the tractor to allow the FEL to have full functionality (since I’ll likely have the grapple on it). It will pass over the top of the FEL lever to allow it to be usable. The “dry” fit suggests there will be plenty of shoulder room as the saw angles towards the center of the tractor such the the boom on the FEL can come up without hitting the saw.

The mount on the existing valve hardware and the socket/removable section will take a bit of thought to get right.

But if it was easy, anyone could do it. I like a good challenge to solve. I maybe slow, but I sure am slow.
Very Smart.....I like it!

Going to employ the same concept to mine. Looking forward to seeing your finished product.

Thank You for the idea. (y)

You are welcome. Turnabout is fair play!

My cargo box looks like yours for a reason.

My solutions: I removed the plastic factory pencil box from the ROPS crossbar and installed a real tool box with u bolts. Then I decided that I needed a “glove box” for gloves, cell phone and miscellaneous. I had just enough room to install a small ammo box behind the SMV sign on the cross bar after making an extension for the SMV sign bracket. My chain is in the chain bucket below my grill guard. Perfect for my uses.

All the ammo cans are flimsy. To include the vintage era.

I've thought of using a 5gal Jerry Can, cut down. Cut it about 12" of the bottom, cut the top off at the seam, band the top to make a lip, for overlap and retention, hinge the back, hasp (or use an ammo can latch) the front type thing. Punch some holes in the bottom. Rhino Line it.
All I did to stiffen my ammo can was to add a sheet of 1/4” steel on the inside side as a backer plate before drilling and attaching the u bolt fastener.

Bolted thru the OEM holes on the ROPs bar (and still tilt the ROP if needed), spaced it out a bit with 3D printed spacer, and an ammo box I had kicking around. Large enough to hold a couple of crescent wrenches, fencing plyers, bunch of pins, gloves, glasses etc and keep it all dry. IMG_20241111_131549165_HDR.jpg IMG_20241111_131601864.jpg

ITC Quick Attach - Milwaukee Packout Mount for FEL
Works very well for me. I made a spacer block out of wood(painted black), and used a different u-bolt (stainless + coated on the part that is against the FEL mount) than what it came with. This makes it stick out a little more, but not bad. Still have good visibility, holds a lot of tools/chain, clears the cab door and tire at full turn/tilt, as well as the FEL kick-stand lever.

Kept it simple. Except for an occasional run into town, I'm not that far from tools on a 3-1/2 acre lot. The black bag from HF has some basic tools and an assortment of pins, etc. It rides behind the seat with a roll of paper towels. Honestly, paper towels are needed more frequently than tools:)

I made a box that slides on and is pinned to a couple of bits of square tube welded to the rops. Easy to remove if ever needed.

Sourced a bracket at AMZ. Repurposed an old plastic tool box sitting around gathering dust. Couple minutes with a hand hacksaw to trim the bottom of the bracket and another couple minutes to bolt everything together and on to the ROPs. Operator left (port) side. Keeps the right (starboard) side free of obstructing the fuel tank filler and various control arms.

Only negative so far was when I was attaching the tires chains last Autumn. Stood up and clunked the head.
