Serial Number on L2550

Where would I find the serial number on a L2550? Insurance is asking and on the bill of sale it's only a five digit number which seems odd. Shouldn't it be longer?

nope... Mine (L2550 GST 1990) is 5 digits. stamped into the metal I think and I know it's on a badge on the frame lower front left. (uggg..I think. minds-eye on this one).

Yes the serial numbers are only 5 digits... but the first part of the serial number is the tractor model number, So on yours it will be L2550DT-XXXXX or L2550DT-GST-XXXXX or L2550F-XXXXX.
