Securing a PTO shaft when not in use

Currently I cobbled a bungee strap on my PTO shaft to keep it up and out of the dirt when not in use, but still able to back close enough to it to hook it up pretty easily. There must be better ways of securing them when disconnected from the tractor. I would love to hear how others do this.

Thanks

I do the same, so I'm subscribing to your thread in search of better ideas.

I do to on implements where a parking hook isn't suppled with the implement. Tarp strap works fine. My batwing and my other hog both have park hooks, nothing else does.

I place a 6 X 6 block or a cinder block under the shaft to keep it off the ground. I also bag it to keep dust out. (We have a LOT of dust!!)

I just use a PT 2x6 about a foot long and rest the connecting part on that, which keeps it all off the ground. I keep my BH and finish mower under a barn which also helps a bit.

I take them off and put them in the shed. Mine come off their respective machines the same way they come off the tractor. Gives me a chance to give them a good cleaning and greasing

I use the safety chain on the pto shield as a sling to hold the pto shaft up near the top of three point where the top link attaches. The pin is easy to loop the chain over.

Just found this thread again after having lost it for a couple of weeks. The pics show a piece of cold bent rebar that I use to hold the driveshaft off the ground.
