Maybe it helps. Maybe it doesn’t. Maybe masks work. Maybe masks don’t. Maybe wearing a mask gives people a false sense of security. Maybe using additives gives a sense of security as well.

I personally put an additive in my fuel. Maybe I’m buying into snake oil. But in the end, it’s my tractor, my engine. If someone asks for my suggestion, I would recommend using something.

That’s the beauty of informed consent. Each person can do their own research, even their own testing, and come to whatever conclusion they want. Nobody is forcing people to put additives in their fuel. It’s my tractor and forcing someone to inject something they don’t want in their system is in-American and morally wrong!!!

Lets Go Brandon!!!

Snake oil or not, I’ve used a biocide and an addictive year round for years.

My brand choice doesn’t matter, but I’ve blown snow at 0500 and -8 degrees F before work. Not a time to deal with a gelled tractor.

A few years ago many folks were dealing with algal problems. Cheap insurance in my book.

I use Seafoam in all my small gas engines as I believe it helps keep the carburetors clean, especially the ones that don't see much use, like the pressure washer and generator. We do use a biocide in diesel storage tanks.

I've added a maintenance dose of SF to every fuel can of gasoline or diesel I fill at the pump.
My B2650 has been using this SF treated diesel for 660 hours, almost 4 years. I have never had an issue with fuel gelling in the cold here which gets into9 the low -30C range every year. Or any biological contamination of any sort.
I know from experience that SF in my gasoline makes a big difference for my fuel keeping longevity, and any older gas machine I've used it in RUNS and STARTS better, period.
I'll keep springing the bucks for it to treat my fuels.

Here is a long term study on your favorite snake oils in gasoline engines. This is the conclusion video, there are a number preceding this.

I do use Power Service products in my Ford diesel for lubricity purposes, those Bosch fuel pumps can fail and it is a MAJOR expense to repair.

I as well after my new B2650 quit running before the tank was down to 1/4. The delivery kid told me he filled it up at the shop before bringing it. I pulled the fuel line ahead of the filter and with needle nose pliers pulled out a mess of jelly like slime. After that it ran ok but I then shocked it with algaecide, and since been adding an algaecide preventative additive as well as a shot of Optilube in every can.

To balance the picture a bit on result for the seafoam in the vid, my walk behind 18hp snow blower sat uncovered outside year round for over 2 years filled with sea foam treated gas. My neighbor walked over and offered to buy it off me as I had never used it again after getting my new kubota, with the front mount 63" beast snow blower.

I said good luck, drain the fuel tank first and get fresh before it'll go!

But being an electric starter, I choked it and tried a crank anyway and it started boom like it was still fresh fuel, without skipping a beat. That was honestly quite surprising!

Sold on Seafoam.

Clean, Fresh Diesel is best for each-and-every diesel engine.
I do not know why owners leap at any snake oil that claims to be “good” or “better” than what your engine mfr recommends. If Kubota doesn’t say “use SeaFoam” or use “Howes” or etc etc etc…then DON”T. unless, of course you like to take chances and throw money out the exhaust.

Can’t use CLEAN/FRESH fuel because you buy large quantities and store it for a long time…?? Then use a biocide and a preservative (like biobor JF and Stabil). But face the fact that you want. to do good things for your diesel…. and the best thing is Clean/Fresh fuel….and skip the snake oils that aren’t specifically approved by your mfr’r.
Do you refuse to grill steaks with propane because the odorant will cling to the meats?
