The 2010 L3940 I purchased recently is coming up on 600hrs. Because it didn't come with maintenance records I intend to repeat the 400hr service along with other periodic maintence.
The owner's manual calls for replacement of hoses (fuel, coolant, hydro cooler, steering, air intake) every 2 years.

I inspected them all today...they look and feel great. Not new, possibly original, but vg condition.

Are people really installing new hoses every couple years?

I wouldn't unless they are bad. My old BX tractor went for about 12 years before I had to replace the first hose, and after that, it seemed that I was replacing a hose or two every year until I sold it. The cost wasn't breaking the bank, so I replaced them as needed. Eventually, I realized that it was time to get a new tractor and sell the old one. The deciding factor was that the new tractor would have a hard cab and make moving snow in the winter a much more pleasant task. Old age creeps up on us when we are not looking, and one day you wake up and realize that it is time to change your way of how you work.

I don't. You've done your bit inspecting the hoses. I replace mine if there's wear, cracking or failure.

On high wear areas I usually add hose sleeve and plastic hose protectors when I change the hoses.

The OEM hoses are very good. I would just continue to inspect regularly and replace as required. Two of my machines have hoses on them that are 20+ years old.

I have a Kubota D650 cc powered Onan generator. It has 2100 hours on it when I bought it. It still had all of the original coolant hoses on it. I replaced them all, but they were still all pliable and would have run a lot longer.
I have a 2010 B3200 with low hours on it and I don't intend on changing any of the coolant hoses.

If it isn't broke, I generally don't fix it. I agree that some things should be preventative maintenance, but new hoses every two years is extreme. My first thought would be "Are they using junk hoses on my expensive tractor?".

We are discussing hydraulic hoses, not coolant hoses. Two different animals.
