A semi local dealer, about 40miles away, recently opened another about 3 miles from my place.
Went there for open house after work, towards the end, they had gift bag giveaways. Guy I went to high school with is the manager. He said "hell it's almost over take 2."
Inside them were 2 different kubota hats.

I went into the dealership a few weeks ago to buy some oil and other small items. I’ve purchased a few things like mats and a part for a landscape rake previously.

”How much are your hats,” I asked. The parts counter guy responded, “Just grab you one.”

Mind you, my Kubota came from a different dealer. Lol.

When I traded my JD1025R for a B2601 the salesperson showed me the numbers. . . I was ready to sign the check. My wife told the salesperson to call the manager back and tell him we want $600 more off the price.

The manager reluctantly agreed.

Found out later the computer wouldn't accept the sales numbers without the manager's authorization code.
Something about being below cost. . .
Asking for a free hat on top of that deal would have just been rubbing their nose in it. 🤣🤣

Well, since this post is showing up as a new post today, about 50 days later…

I found that if I spend between 10 and $25k, there’s a fair chance a “free” hat will be involved. As to the dealer suggesting that tractors only come with one key, talk about cheap. Mine have came with 2 keys and it wasn’t an extra. Given the the dealer probably buys keys by the pound, given they are the same within a series, it sounds like the one key salesperson probably only wants to sell that customer one piece of equipment in this lifetime.

Just realized I have about $95k worth of free hats. Some of those dollars were spent 30 years ago when they were worth a fair bit more.

But wait, what self respecting Kubota operator / owner would be caught wearing a JD hat??
I'd have orange grass if.... oh wait that's a little over the top!
I am a self-respecting John Deere owner, and I am lurking on these forums pretending that I am a Kubota BX23S owner. Now, if someone cares to send me a free Kubota hat or Kubota tee shirt (2x), I will change my loyalty.

When I dropped my John Deere (Kubota) off at the dealership, I made sure to take the key with me. When I picked it up, there was a key in the ignition. I removed it and when it came time to put it on the trailer, I couldn't find the key in my pocket, so they gave me another. The salesman will nickel and dime you as if you were taking food out of their children's mouths.

The driver had the tractor PART of the rollback.

Nope, that was the first thing I checked.
I would have asked the salesman if they used atmospheric air in the tires or nitrogen. Nothing like screwing with them. When I go to Costco for tires, I ask if they evacuated the atmospheric air before they filled the tires with nitrogen. Got to love the looks that they give me every time. The help there changes so often that you could do it to a whole new crew every week.

I like to F with the deli people.

When they ask me "how thick do you want your ham sliced?"

I say " 33 thousandths please." Then I get the "deer in headlights" look.....

Then my wife jabs me in the ribs, and and pipes up "Thin please".....

Although I did have one guy just turn around and slice it up....I didn't measure it, but it looked damn close.

When you want it sliced thicker. Tell them you want it with 2 sides. You get the look. 😄
