I found that as long as you keep the inside tire moving forward ever so slowly, even during a tight turn, it will not tear up the grass. Took a little getting used to but they are working out great. Oh and while cutting the ditches, it side hills so much better, almost no slippage down into the ditch like before.

my concern would be if the turfs are slipping you're driving too hard.

now the tractor tires don't slip..so that 'relief' isn't htere - the stresses are being transferred to the trans/hst units or frame.

Something is gonna give.

I'd rather have my tires slip than the hst units break.

YMMV
If you are constantly running the control valves like toggle switches I'd agree with you. The turfs just have next to zero traction. Ever tried turning on slopes? Even at low and controlled speeds its just slip and slide down the hill. I can do nice and slow controlled turns now. Even driving straight on slopes I was always sliding down hill a little at any speed. That isn't a problem any more.

I'll never go back to turfs for my grass cutting.

im with you.. staying moving & riding out any mistakes is much better than toggle switch action on the sticks.

the LAST thing i worry about is the parker/white pumps/wheel motors.

they got 3000hr warranty's on them for a reason. (im at 1600+hrs not even a drip)

which brings a funny ad on to this discussion:

so last week all of the sudden i went into the spin of death going down the hill... if you have a zero, you instantly think: i lost a wheel motor or pump. F@#K!

got stopped, had wife come out & get in the seat & hit the stick...

good news!! no problem there!

bad news: had turned the center of the hub out of the drum!! YEP it literally tore the center out of it & was spinning inside the wheel.

took the tractor & shoved it to the barn/shop & spent several hours trying to get that hub off, finally got it & ordered the new hub & nut. thru her back together ..... $85 & some time later...

more good news: YEP that fixed it, mowed it all saturday morning.

there is no substitute for buying good equipment.
