Several years ago, I was using a 1974 JD 830 for bush hogging a meadow.
It was a manual trans with 2 shifters. The gear select switch popped out of a low gear as I was going downhill bush hogging. I quickly locked up both brakes and got stopped about 15' before a waterfall.
I was about to bail.
