RTV900 Pump shaft

Have any of you ever removed the pump shaft on an rtv900 hydrostat WITHOUT completely disassembling the transmission?
I need to replace the pump swash plate and to do so the pump shaft needs to be removed . the WSM says to tap it out towards the rear but they are assuming I have the transmission all apart. If it can be removed from the rear it will cut off about 8 hr's labor to completely remove the engine and trany and disassemble! There appears to be nothing stopping it except the press fit on the bearing behind the charge pump. even if I have to damage the shaft to get it out it would be worth it as the shaft is only $80.00.

I know you can get all of the rotating groups out when removing the valve block, but not 100% sure about the shaft.

Yes, I have the rotating groups all out. The swash plate is broken on the pump and it won't come out with the pump shaft in place!

Well I put a puller on that pump shaft and it comes out alright. problem is the coupler inside the transmission came off and fell inside I removed the rear axle and the right side brake assembly and have good access to reinstall the shaft and coupler. will save at least 6 hr's doing it this way so I think it's a good procedure.

Well I got the RTV900 back together and she works just fine! 6.5 hr's instead of 14 customer is happy and so am I!
