RTV900/1100 rearaxle nut torque

For those people running rtv's there has been an increase in the torque spec for the nut on the rear axle. we have had some spline failures here so this is likely important! Remove the plastic hub cover in the center of the rear wheels, remove the cotter pin and torque the nut to 140 ft lbs (both sides).
Kubota also have a new drive shaft available for the front drive (transfer case to front diff) It is reasonably priced and a vast improvement over the original!! (same style as rtv1100)

Too late for me. Dealer told me my nut came loose and now I have to replace axle and hub. around $1200. Is this something you can replace on your own?

Should the fronts be done to 140 ft lbs as well?

My 2009 manual quotes 110 ft lbs for both front and rear slotted axle nuts.

We haven't had any problems with the front hubs, I'd leave them alone.
It rarely damages the drive shaft so usually you get away with replacing just the hub.

What do you need Vic? A hub or a whole RTV ?LOL I can sell you any Kubota part but I can't ethically sell for less than Camrose Dynamic Sales would sell it to you for. (I do get a paycheck from them and I'd sooner not tic them off!) I'll make sure they don't rip you off though. Most dealers mark up their parts 10 to 20 % above Kubota's suggested retail, we don't.
