Rtv 900 stalled and not starting

Hello I have an rtv 900 3 cylinder diesel 4x4 with vht. I started it up today to do some work around the yard and got about 50’ and the throttle was none responsive and slowly sputtered and stalled. After that I could not get it to start. It cranks just fine but will not fire up. I changed the fuel filter and air filters. I loosened the top nuts for fuel lines to bleed any air and while cranking the rear line bubbled a little with very little fuel coming or while the other two showed nothing. I’m wondering if anyone else had this issue. Wondering how I could tell if it is the fuel pump?

Diesel engines only need air, properly timed good quality fuel, and compression to run. This tells me that when it stopped, it lost something. Is the oil level ok? Is the air filter ok? If those are ok, it's entirely possible that it's starving for fuel...but if that's the case, why? There are two pumps. One is a "lift" pump, which has two hoses-one from the tank, the other to the injection pump. You can remove the hose from the injection pump and have someone crank the engine. You should have good flow. If not, either the lift pump is dead, or there is a blockage between the lift pump and fuel tank, or something in the tank itself blocking the pickup.

Could also have water in the fuel. Or gasoline although gas will usually try to run at least until the injection pump seizes.

Yes so I changed the fuel filter and air filters. Oil level is good although I need to service it the level is good. I’m going to try and take the hose off the lift pump tomorrow and check to see if fuel is being pulled from tank and passing through filter. Fuel is fresh and there is not any moisture in it. Looking at prices I’m hoping if it’s not losing prime from filter issue it’s the lift pump and not injection pump.

Do you have an update on this situation?
I"ve got one doing the same.
It'll run for a bit then sputter, spit and stall.

I read somewhere to remove all fuel and replace with new.

I'd love to hear what you found out on the subject.

Your symptoms suggest a fuel supply problem.
Remove the hose from the fuel filter to the lift pump to see if you have a good supply for the pump.
If you do, reinstall the hose, remove the pump outlet hose, and crank the engine over several revolutions. Does the fuel pump out in a good stream or spit a little fuel out?
If it just spits, your mechanical fuel lift pump has failed.
