If they've been on a while, you WILL need a hub puller. I rented one recently at Autozone for a different project at home, but they are basically the same as the one I have at work-and they work well. I've beated, banged, broken, busted, invented new words, soaked them, ruined some axle threads, and done about everything else on one....hit it with the hub puller and it came right off. An old co-worker had one that even a puller wouldn't take off, ruined the puller. Made a different one with thicker material and fine threads and it finally came off with the help from a blue-tipped wrench.
