Myself, I run everything in net but I do have twine on the unit, just in case. My customers prefer net wrapped, the hay keeps better than twine. Today, twine or net, the cost is a wash anywayand twine can be a PITA when feeding a bale.

A Cat 1 or Cat 2 rear mount spear will work. Farm and Fleet have them on sale right now for $299.00 If you get a Cat 2, just buy the Cat 1 adapter sleeves, think they are about 50 cents each. You want a 'penetrator' spear. They are slimmer and tempered so they insert easier. I have both and I prefer the 'penetrator'. The penetrator spears are black in color and look like a big dagger.
