Thinking about getting a backhoe. On an L2501, how much rotation will one have? Will it go from full left to full right....180 degrees ?? Do all models with backhoes have about the same rotation ?;)
Thanks for any insight. Pete

Can't speak to others, but my antique B670 has 180 degree swing.

The BH77, which is the proper backhoe for your tractor, will cover a 180 degree arc. Full left to full right as you put it.

Thanks, gents, for the info. I know nothing of them as I have never been around one. I do have an excavator (mini Bobcat) that will swing 360. It is nice but I am about through using it and may be looking to trade it for a backhoe, as I can use the tractor for many things.

I agree, Bulldog. the Bobcat is a digging machine. I am clearing out the sides of my pond. When finished, I may as well try to trade it for something a little more useful here on the little farm. I know that a backhoe can't compete with this thing digging.

The bh77 backhoe is nice but if you’ve already got the tractor and a mini excavator as well then forget it. You’ll just end up being disappointed. That said I have the BH77 and as far as capability goes, it’s a pretty good setup for most everything.

I grew up with a backhoe and thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Move forward a few years and I was a trackhoe operator for several years at a quarry. I spent almost a year on the road and didn't get to touch my new backhoe. The first time I used it I thought to myself what am I suppose to do with this thing. it wasn't the power for me it was the ability to swing. Long story short I sold my backhoe and bought a mini x.

I only share this because I paid $6400 for a new hoe and hated it. Then lost my a$$ when it was sold because nobody wanted it. Just something to think about.
