I have about a month before I purchase a new rotary cutter. I have the L3200 HST and am trying to decide which land pride cutter to purchase. I will be cutting along fence rows and tree lines, pasture...

Any input would be appreciated!

Anything in the 5 foot range will suit you fine. Look for one with a stump jumper as added protection.

I have an RCR2672 for our 5740 with slip clutch and chain guards that we really like. It looks like an RCR18 or RCF20 Series might be good for your tractor as you can get chain guards, slip clutch and they have a 2" cutting capacity.

I know there is always a debate on slip clutch vs shear pin and chain guards cost more, so you may want to set it up differently, this is just what works for me and we have gone through a few cutters before deciding on our present preferred cutters.

Good luck.

We have an 1860 for our 3200 HST and let me tell you, it's a beast. I can't imagine how heavy duty the 2060 is. I have cut through 6ft tall thickets of nasty saplings and it doesn't bog down at all. Tractor and cutter are both beast.

I have the RCR 1860 for my L3800 dt. I've cut 3' grass fields and heavy brush with it and it is unbeatable compared to other brush hogs I've owned (3). Heavy blades, slip clutch system, stump jumper, and built very well. Matches up perfect to my L 3800. I've got the Landpride GS 1560 grading scraper as well, greatest implement for road work, and grading I've owned. Lots of my friends seem to keep borrowing it anyhow. Good luck

Thanks so much guys, Those are the two I was looking at
RCF2060 and the RCR1860.
Does anyone have a preference from one to the other?
The only difference I can see is the RCF20 has optional replaceable skid shoes.

I have the RCR1860, two years of heavy brush cuttin and mowing so far. The housing is a bit light around the back and sides for larger saplings (over 1.5"). But for light stuff & grass it is fine and a very well built mower.

I'm pretty hard on rotary cutters & will get the heavier one next time.

I have a 60" Montgomery Ward (yes, really!) that I bought 35 years ago for my L185DT. We were horsepower challenged - 13.5 PTO hp - I often was in 1st or 2nd in really heavy bog grass. I always said if the tractor would drive over a tree, the rotary would cut it down...
Using the same rotary cutter on my L3200, I can mow whatever is in front of me in 4th or 5th.
Anyway, if you are clearing fields a 60" hog is great. If you are mostly just mowing, I'd consider - and wish I had - a 72" cutter. I like having the cut a bit wider than the tractor tires for getting close to fence posts and trees. It would also cut down a bit on the saddle time.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate all the input. I am thinking I am going to go with the RCR1860 and possibly the QH15 quick hitch. After talking with the dealer today the RCR series has had good results for their customers.
Currently I have a 6ft box blade, 5ft tiller, and carryall.
I acquired those through family members that were not using them.
The box blade is a monster, unsure of the brand but it is heavy, simple adjustment for the teeth, 1 long bar holds them all in place. I have found that to be as useful if not more at times than the front loader.

I have an 1860 on the 3800 and I feel that I should have went with the 1872. The 1860 on your 3200 is a perfect match. Do yourself a favor and get it with the CHAIN guards front and rear. Didn't get chains on the rear and have absolutely beat the shit out of the metal guard it came with. After the abuse this cutter has taken, I will only buy landpride cutters from here on. Within the first 30 minutes of operation I found a 2" sold steel rod that left a blade with less metal on it and a good sized dent in the side of the cutter, but did not affect the drive line on the cutter. Have another 200hrs on it and it still runs great. I mow unused pastures once a month in 2H (6th gear).
