Hello, Just bought a used 2022 L3560HST with R4 tires and a LA805 loader. Going to mow 5-15 acres 1 to 2 times per year. Overall tire width 72".
Would the RCR1272 mower be adequate for light mowing up to perhaps 3' tall native grasses? I need a 72" wide mower to cover the R4 tire width. Thank you
3’ tall is not light mowing. IMO it’s hay.
In my mind it’s going to depend a lot on density and moisture of the grasses you are referring too…but also a lot on how fast you want to drive while cutting, how tall you want cut, and how clean of a cut you want (if looking for a clean cut, I’d be surprised if you could do that in one pass at 3’ tall in M speed range…I am not familiar with your machine but my Mx would not leave a real clean cut on 3’ tall wet grass on a first pass using a an RCF2784 in medium speed range.
Personally I’d want to cover the tracks…even if that means going slower or cutting more frequently…but that’s me.
To your question…see below…this is a bit dated, so I’d also check LP website. Beyond the spec in the pic, I think your expectations will determine whether you will be satisfied or not.
that much acreage/grass I’d consider someone paying you(cash rent) to cut/bail and take bales vs cutting it yourself with a rotary cutter…I know you did not ask that but 15 acres is a few bales and I d rather get a couple bucks vs buy/burn fuel fuel and buy cutter and let the shrapnel clump up. Just my thought.
