Okay everybody... Wondering if anyone on here has a B2650 and uses a Land Pride RCR18 series rotary cutter. If so, what do you think about it with regard to tractor power, etc.? Does the 2650 pull it okay or would I be better served to go with a 15 or even a 12 series cutter with my 2650? Any and all insight appreciated!

I have no direct experience with those rotary cutters, but according to the landpride website, they specify a minimum of 20hp PTO. Not sure you want to be below the minimum. Might be ok with their 48" cutter. Depends on the gearbox id imagine.

What is your outside wheel width?

Rear wheel width is 53" and some change. And yes, the 2650 is pushing 19.5 PTO hp, so by that it would be underpowered for quite a few cutters. I've seen posts on here from various people saying they've had no problem pulling 5 ft cutters with the 2650, and my local dealer recommended the 18 series to me recently. I'm sure he was talking about the 1860 (60" cutter) and not the bigger one. But I don't have any personal experience with that size on this tractor and am looking for someone to say either "yes, it will pull just fine" or "no, not a good pairing at all"

Theres several companies that start their ratings at 15hp PTO on some of their rotary cutters. All of which seem to be ~48". BushHog. Woods. EA. KingKutter. Im sure there more.

Im not saying you cant. But it looks like your best chances of success are with a 48" implement.

The series 12, 15 or 18 isn't what matters when it comes to HP. The series is for what the cutter can handle. Example, the 12 series says it will cut 1" saplings and the 18 series says it will cut 2".

As for HP, it matters more on what, width, and how fast you can cut, The smaller cutter, 48" vs 60" will require les HP because it is not cutting as much per pass. Also with the smaller cutter you can go faster for the same reason.

Yes, you can probably pull the 60" cutter as long as you go slower.

Good info. This supports my decision to go with the 48". I bought a 48" Kodiak because I use it in the woods. It is a beast and mulches as it goes. I think your advice says it depends on what you are going to use it for. If I was doing a field and take my time I could use wider with no problem as I also have a First Choice 60" finish mower but I must go slower to cut it all than I do with my 48".

I have 10 hours on my B2650 HSDC and the RCR 1860. Pulls great, cuts great. No issues. Seems to be a great combo.

I do cut on quite a slope, so I head down hill as much as I can. Here is a pic. I was out of the tractor doing a police-call for obstacles, thought I would take a picture on that pretty evening.

General rule is 5 pto hp per foot. If you want a heavy duty cutter, capable of 2" saplings, better get a bigger machine. I have a 4' Deere 413. Id call light to medium duty. My 24hp B7610 pulls it fine. I wouldn't be comfortable pulling a 5 footer though. Not enough machine to do so.
