Anyone using their kits? I have a 3301 that needs better lighting and they seem like a nice kit. The website says it mounts right on and plugs into and existing wireing harness plug. Is that true? Can it really be that easy? Do they put out good light?

Thanks

Your not going to get any answers to a question like. "Anyone using their kits" without telling us what/who "THEIR" your refering too. Is a link missing in the message?

BTW there are a ton of threads on adding lights to ROPs in this forum. A search may show someone has used whatever Brand you intended to refer too.

Re: Rops Lights

I may not represent the majority, but mounting lights on the ROPS is not my first choice for two reasons. We have winged insects that are attracted to the light - doesn't matter if it's LED or halogen. My head and neck are between the ROPS-mounted lights. Annoying at times.

I wear glasses. With the lights slightly behind me I'd have to wear blinders to eliminate the glare of the light bouncing off the back of the lenses.

On my Ford the lights work very well on the fenders. On the B7500 I had, the mounting spot that worked best was on the loader frame.

The first Summer with the L3200 they were on the ROPS and the bugs reminded me that I didn't like them there. Since building the cab the lights are out front and the bugs aren't much of an issue.

Here's s a shot of where the B7500 lights lived. They were protected by the frame and still lit thing up well.

In the "must have websites" there is a link to Ropslights. They offer kits

I could see the issue with bugs on your head. Is the harmess plug and play ready like they say on the 3301?

ahhhhh.. wasn't clear. I italicized company name in your last post, and changed original thread title, to point out better that this was a company name and not just generic wording for "Lights on a ROP bar"

Looks like this company has been mentioned several times here at OTT. A quick scan of one of the threads a member here said they used their lights. A search may find you them. Here is a link to the search

Tractor Trivia

For newbies.... ROP is "Roll Over Protection"- the name used for Roll Bar in the Tractor world. The other odd one is FOP for "Fall On Protection" such as falling tree limbs, rocks, etc.

Instead of chastising him you should read the title of his post it clearly states the product name.

I am sure that those lights are fantastic ! But I surely would not pay a $130 plus shipping for two lights and a switch and wire - but then again, I always look for a bargain. Simplicity is sometimes worth the $$$ too however.:)

LOL, thank you for the complimenting me for changing the thread title to something that "clearly states the product". BEFORE YOU READ IT:p Prior to that it was a bit unclear. Did it help too that I added the link;) Granted can see easily how one could have assumed that title was one created by Original Poster though.

What is it they say..... "To "ASSUME" makes an Ass.. of U and Me. Just ribbing you. Don't take offense. :D

There is a learning curve to posting concisely. At times; as a moderator, I'll take the liberty to use mistakes made in folks post and turn them into "Teachable Moments" FOR EVERYONE. Teachable moments; a habit from being a coach and coaching mentor for 40+yrs. So don't take it as chastising anyone. Just helping us all be better forum communicators. .

In all fairness the OP may have tried to change title himself.... one of the few things not good about VBulletin; the software this site uses, is that they wrote it so members can not change the title of their own threads. Only Admin or Mod can do that. Never understood the software developers reasoning behind that.

Sorry to butthurt everyone. I posted from my phone, which is a PITA. That is a reason not to have the link posted. I have been on the Allischalmers.com page since around 98, so this isn't anything new to me, just a bunch of different guys. LOTS of good info and experience out there.

My question is if the mounts are as good as they say, and can you just plug into an existing harness as they state on the L3301, I am not real fond of the price, but the harness and easy set up has me interested.

Thanks all

When I try the link, it's says no good and takes me nowhere.
hmmm.. link works fine for me... maybe cause your on a phone?? (if you still are)

Anyway here is what he said

Since another link may not work... Click on [community] at the top of the page in the black bar to open a drop down list. Last menu item is "member list" You can use that to get to Ben S's profile and PM him about his lights.
