Item 4 tells you, "Never modify or repair any structural member of a CAB or ROPS because welding, bending, drilling, grinding, or cutting may weaken the structure.". It doesn't say. "you can't modify a tractor unless you assume responsibility for the potential accidents of future owners? ", but I would think that you do take on some legal responsibility for modifying it.
