I borrowed a nearby farmer's rock bucket and have been picking up the rock I pulled to the surface with my grading scraper (grading blades removed). It is slow going but I am getting there. I plan on finishing this round of picking then turn the soil and pick one more time. Hopefully that will get me where I need to be which is relatively rock free in the top 6".

It's a great tool. I also used mine to sift the dirt out of bamboo root piles I'd dug up with the backhoe. And it worked well to smooth out the dirt after I'd moved it back into area where I'd dug out the roots.

I've seen those but no rental yards any where in my area rent them. Plus, that style is hydraulically operated and I don't have rear hydraulics. You would really be jealous of our land, 12.48 acres and not a single rock to be had.
I am jealous of the zero rock situation but in the end it will be worth it. This is our view of Lake Chelan...

Wow! how lucky you are. When the glaciers retreated this area 10,000 years ago, it dropped half of Canada right here. I've been moving some for landscaping purposes. Some weigh more than 2500 but Mr. Kubota handles them fine.That's a bummer that you can't rent one, it would work really well for you.

Our ground is the over wash of the Missoula lake floods, from way back, silty sand.
I can go miles Either way and they just have rock, the only issue I have is during spring breakup it turns to quicksand and will swallow just about anything.

It has it's up and downs, yea mostly ups when it comes to building and moving dirt, but let me tell you about the quicksand during spring breakup.
