How do you get the max traveling speed out of a L3560. (appx 16mph)
May be a dumb question but I'm new at this. My first tractor.
I can only go about 5km (appx 3mph)

3mph? Put it in High range, throttle it up to full throttle and mash the HST pedal to the floor. That will give you your max speed.

It sounds like the hi/low range selector is in low range. :)

Do you have the gear range in high? It is a lever on the left side, 3, well 5, positions: low, neutral, medium, neutral, and high. Then there is also a little lever on the left side of the steering wheel that you can select tortoise mode (slow, push down) or hare mode (fast, lift up)---you'll see the symbols light up on the panel. That lever is labeled the H-DS lever in the manual. The tractor should not be moving when you make these changes. So if you are in high range, hare mode, you should get the fastest ground speed.

Then if you depress the auto throttle button, the speed and rpm will be determined by the HST pedal. The minimum rpm for the engine is set by the hand throttle for when you take your foot off the pedal. Let us know if you have more questions. I love my 3560 :)

Added note: if your 3560 is brand new, it is not recommended to run it full speed, throttle, until it is broken in a bit, after 50 hours, and if you are running down a road, take it out of 4 wheel drive, and make sure both brake pedals are locked together!

The real danger is going road speed, hit the brake for whatever reason. They're not locked together, and which ever brake peddle your foot hits causing the opposite side to keep turning, can very easily cause a roll over at road speed!!

There's a warning in every owner's manual for this.

And make sure that your front diff. is NOT engaged if travelling any distance.

I always run with brakes locked together, unlock for steering brake use then lock back together.
You dont want to travel in road gear when roads are wet-makes for a real dirty machine.

Question how far are you going what are you pulling and why are you wanting to run full bore down the highway on a tractor?
