Pug,

You evidently don't know you have to bend the handle slightly to get the bolts through the holes...
The tractor fender is curved and so must the handle base be curved to match the fender. The bolts are not parallel for the same reason. Leave the handle out in the sun for an hour and then straighten it out slightly and it will fit in the holes.

Hope this got to your before you drilled your fender...

Does anyone know the part number for the right side grab handle for the L3901? I want to add one to mine.
That part number is outdated but the new part number is T1060-29470. I just bought this for my L3901 and it fit perfectly. I also got the 2 nuts which hold the handle on, part 02771-50100. Total with shipping was $52.70

Just ordered the right hand grab handle for our L3901. I gave the dealer the t1060-29470 # to check on the cost of the handle and the # didn't work we tried the old # t1060-29450 and it came up, so for any Canadian members wanting this part use the t1060-29450 US and Canadian Kubota part #'s are not always the same just for future reference.
I just installed a Right Hand Fender Grip on my L3901DT. The Canadian part numbers are as follows: 1) RH GRIP #T106029450 and 2) Flange Nuts #0277170100. I had to put the forward end of the grip in the lower pre-drilled hole first and then slightly bend the Grip to get it into the upper pre-drilled hole. Fits like a charm.

The handle for the L3800 is pretty long and the fender presents a radius (curve) at the attach point. The handle is perfectly matched to that radius. if you look at my handle from the side, the two mounting bolts are not parallel, but seem to point at slightly different angles, toward the rear axle. The distance between the tips of the mounting bolts is shorter than the distance between the bolts at the plastic handle. On this machine, the holes are not oval and this is why the handle required a little "flexing" to get the bolts to line up.

Once the handle is seated against the fender, the bolts line up perfectly with the holes in the fender.

Just bought one yesterday for my mx4800. Hard to believe they don't include it. Cost me 50 at the kubota dealer. I didn't realize it was missing until after I bought the tractor otherwise i would have asked them to include the 50 dollar piece of plastic. Apparently it's standard on the mx 5200.

I can remember back in the 80s or perhaps the 90s Porsches sold in the UK came as standard with only one door mirror.

Image signing up for a new 911 and the salesman asks if you want the optional passenger side mirror for another 150 Quid!

Wonder if Kubota studied that 'business model'.

I think it is a liability thing, on the L3901 the FEL controls are mount on left and if you would try to get on the tractor from that side you could hit the controls and hurt someone or yourself. I got the handle because I kept holding on the the fender like I did on my Ford 2000.

At least the dealers will sell the handle. It was the first thing that I did to my L3901 after I got it.

What MD said...

I heard the same thing. In Japan, the controls are reversed and you only get the right side handle.

I hear their major concern is people mounting the machine from the FEL control side and inadvertently actuation the FEL. Seems like with the handle there, there is actually less room to get your body through! I am too fat to try it...

Ordered from Messick's 1 pm on Monday, Fedex delivered Wednesday morning to central Illinois. Total cost 62.05. Part T1060-29470 was $44.62, 2 Flange nuts part # 02771-70100 were $1.73 each. Delivery $ 13.97 (regular shipping).
Installed it in about 5 minutes (took my time). Put a fender washer on each bolt just because
Dropped right into pre-drilled holes, no bending, no more orange tape.
Put it onto the L2501.

How about a right fender arm rest? I find myself leaning on the fender a lot watching the fenceline, garden row, etc. This could be a hot accessory item. :D
