Replacing Side Links with Chains . . .

My land is uneven in some spots. When I begin running a flail mower over the pastures to reclaim them for the first couple of times I would like to replace both side links with chains so as not to damage anything . . just let the flail mower ~find it's own level~ so to speak . . I am afraid I may bend something if the tractor tilts and the flail mower does not . .

How do you guys do this? Pics would be great . .

I wouldn't do that. The mower will float and pivot just fine. You do not want it flopping side to side.

I will second the don't do it! ;)
If you notice it's an offset flail mower, if you put chains on it you won't be able to properly lift it.
The long side of the flail mower will not lift up, it will only pick up on the short side.
The flail mower is made to float on it's own without any changes to your existing 3 point setup, yes it's going to scalp off any high spots, but it's designed to take it!

That is why the 3ph arms do not push down. I believe you can adjust the rear roller to raise the flail blades. Or you can extend the top link - just don't put too much angle on the mower U-joint.
That looks to be a really good mower. Keep us informed how it does!
