Just wondering if anyone knows what alternative hydro oil I could use in my John Deere 345. Seems that there is not much special about it. My Ariens zero turn takes a synthetic engine oil in the hydro. All the Deere dealers are a bit of a drive but if there is any doubt in the oil, I will have to get it from them. Book says use a low viscosity Hy-Guard oil.

low viscosity hy-gard is the only thing that I can recommend. I've tried the TSC stuff and it makes things act weird, especially when cold. I bought one of those things (345) for my mom before I gave her one of my G1900's and she liked it for the most part. All but filling the fuel tank 4 times a year. She doesn't fill the tank on the Kubota, I do, when I do maintenance in March. It's good for the entire mowing season.
